Another sunset on the water for drinkies |
Well black Friday or not we upped and toddled of to Burnett Heads at 0645 anchoring in the river at 1515.
It was a beautiful day and we put up the sails just after passing Urangan Pier (yes that's the one in Michael's supposed arty shots in a earlier blog). The motor went off and we sailed all the way to the river entrance. After a lumpy and confused sea early on we had a great sail reaching all the way and even achieved 7+ knots which is pretty good for Saaremaa (normally she dawdles along at 5kts, probably cos' the skipper has not set the sails properly).
The eerie look |
A later arrival and the 'shag' trawler. |
Yep its Black Friday alright cos' the fridge that has been running brilliantly since we left has just decided to go on the blink.
The plots have been done and its off to Pancake Creek tomorrow 60 nm away so its another early rise on the agenda. Winds are forecast SW 10-15 kts so it will not be as exhilarating a sail as today's. 60 nm = 12hrs sailing at our normal speed of 5kts so it may be time for Benny Boy (the windvane) to earn his keep.
An early rise so the Saaremaates are off to bed early. This may be our last post for a few days since we are unlikely to to have internet in Pancake Creek or Yellow Patch.
Sorry you are not going up through the narrows the miggies are so big they lift off the screens to get at you. Yellow patch is great it is worth the effort to find your way in then take the cable car to the top of the sand hill and catch the 2 second skate board to the bottom mind the weggies when you apply the brakes at the bottom.
